Yes.

Even though I love storytelling tips and tricks and spend A LOT of time talking about them through my work (Unconventional Leaders is a great place to start there), I know with every fiber of my being that what makes someone a great storyteller and communicator is not just what they say or how they say it. There is also an intangible element that comes with resonance and spirit.

It’s not about being extroverted when you’re not.

It’s not about being overly vulnerable and crying to strangers on the internet.

It’s not about having a fancy camera or even a team of editors.

Resonance and alignment are what we are after. Everything else is a tool to amplify the message; it is not THE message.

We get “there” through a real, honest conversation with yourself and something bigger than you, and then through the bravery to admit what that still, small voice is saying and the courage to step toward it.

So yeah, we are “going there.”

The training is designed as a resource you can return to whenever you need it. Go through the entire process, or jump into the lessons that are most relevant to where you’re stuck.

That’s not the goal. Anyone who has ever gone viral will assure you that it’s not all it’s cracked up to be.

Our culture is OBSESSED with “attention,” but I would argue that even if your post gets a lot of views, the attention may not actually be there… or at least not the kind of attention you were hoping for.

I once sat on a call with a viral content creator who cried as he told me that he felt like he had wasted his life. Even though he was getting a lot of views, he wasn’t making the impact he intended, nor was he making the money people assumed he was making.

He was embarrassed and felt “betrayed” by his audience. But the truth is, a lot of creators have this experience because going viral means NOTHING without a consistent body of work that you’re proud of and that deeply resonates with people.
